Why 124gr?

124gr is the NATO standard — the bullet weight most law enforcement agencies, militaries, and serious defensive shooters train with. It's heavier than the 115gr range workhorse, which means slightly more recoil, slightly more energy, and a feel that matches the premium JHPs people actually carry.

If you carry Hornady Critical Duty, Speer Gold Dot, Federal HST, or Sig V-Crown for self-defense — those are all 124gr loads. Training with 124gr range ammo means your practice feels like your carry. The 115gr is great for volume; the 124gr is great for realistic practice.

For Defensive Practice
Matches the weight of premium 124gr JHPs — train how you carry without paying carry-ammo prices.
For LE & Duty Training
NATO-standard 124gr loading — same weight class as agency-issued range ammo, priced for serious volume.
For Competition
USPSA/IDPA shooters running 124gr for power factor compliance — clean cycling in tuned race guns.
For Range Volume
Same 16-point QC as everything we ship — just a heavier bullet for shooters who prefer the feel.

How We Build It

16-point QC. Every round. No exceptions.

Every Brass Kisses 124gr cartridge starts as once-fired brass that gets treated like it matters — because it does:

  1. Inspected for splits, cracks, and defects
  2. Cleaned and pressure-tested on automated Scharch Range Master systems
  3. Deprimed with flash holes cleared
  4. Primer pockets reamed to accept fresh CCI primers
  5. Acid-washed for surface uniformity
  6. Resized on proprietary Brass Kisses tooling to strict S.A.A.M.I. spec

Then loaded with premium components — new CCI primers, new Hodgdon powder, new 124gr copper-jacketed round-nose projectiles — on Camdex and Ammo Load Mark X pistol presses. Every batch runs through the 16-point quality control before it ships.

Reliable. Unapologetic. 100% Guaranteed.

Common Questions

How does 124gr compare to 115gr?
124gr is 9 grains heavier and slightly slower (~1,100 FPS vs ~1,150 FPS for 115gr). You'll feel slightly more recoil and a heavier "push" instead of a snappy kick. Most defensive JHPs are loaded at 124gr, so 124gr range ammo gives you practice that matches your carry feel. 115gr is the budget volume option; 124gr is for realistic training.
Will this cycle in my 9mm pistol?
Yes — SAAMI-spec 9mm Luger ammo cycles reliably in any 9mm pistol (Glock 17/19/43, S&W M&P, Sig P320/P365, Beretta 92, CZ, 1911, etc.) and any 9mm PCC. The 124gr weight actually cycles MORE reliably than 115gr in some compensated/tuned guns. 100% guarantee covers you regardless.
Can I use this in a 9mm carbine or PCC?
Absolutely — 124gr is a great PCC weight. The heavier bullet picks up extra velocity from the longer barrel and tends to be more accurate at carbine ranges. Standard 9mm SAAMI spec runs through any 9mm carbine (Ruger PC9, Sig MPX, CZ Scorpion, KelTec Sub-2000, AR-9, etc.).
Is this suppressor-safe?
Yes — 124gr RN with copper jacket is suppressor-safe. We don't run unjacketed lead through our line. Note: standard 124gr is supersonic, so you'll still get the sonic crack downrange. For full suppressor quiet, look at our 9mm 147gr subsonic load.
Should I carry this for self-defense?
No — this is FMJ/round-nose training ammo, not defensive ammo. For carry, use premium JHP from major manufacturers (Speer Gold Dot 124gr, Federal HST 124gr, Hornady Critical Duty, Sig V-Crown). The benefit of training with our 124gr is that it matches the WEIGHT of those defensive loads, so your practice feels like your carry.
How fast does Brass Kisses ship?
Orders typically ship within 7 business days from order placement. Need a status update? Email us at info@brasskisses.com. Small Utah outfit, every order matters.
